Peter loves art passionately and enjoys helping to display works in a way that enhances the viewer’s appreciation. Peter learned his trade at a time when archival framing was just developing in New Zealand, so he was able to work closely with conservators and curators to gaining valuable knowledge. His clients included FHE Gallery, White Space, Anna Bibby, Denise Cowan and the Auckland Museum. He has had the privilege of framing work for New Zealand artists Gordon Walters, Toss Wollaston and Laurence Aberhart, to name a few.
Peter enjoys bringing his extensive experience to all art that comes his way. He equally enjoys framing children’s art, tapestry, photos, posters and paintings.
On a commercial level, he has worked with Interior designers on large hotel contracts, such as the Regent Hotel, Centra Hotel, and Carlton Auckland. More recently Peter has framed for Muka Studios “Youth Prints” exhibitions, and is currently framing for the Carrington Estate, Karikari.
Peter’s background of sail making and cabinet making has assisted him with framing large works and textile, and allows him to manage complex and unusual jobs. He is confident in handling both large and small works. Some of his more unusual framing requests include : The Invincible Rugby Jersey, Maori Cloaks, Hand Grenades, and believe it or not a Mark 4 Cortina.
